I am a mother, a grandmother, a social entrepreneur, an artist, a regenerative finance investor, a passionate gardener/cook/foodie, a marine educator, and an ocean protector who works through creative and community-engaged participatory work. Respecting our elders, past and present, here in this learning space and throughout my individual life is a critical part of my leadership style. It is the journey I am taking as an emerging Matriarch. It reminds me to exchange knowledge generously with you. Together we co-create opportunities for all of us to become good ancestors through the actions we take today, in all areas of our lives, through the multiple dimensions of our diversity.
Why me? I've extended an invitation, so you needn't feel that you are "bothering me" or "taking up my time." Feel free to share an ask or an offer with me! I combine 40 years of citizen science field research with input from young and old formal and informal ways of knowing. This community-engaged and nature-based innovative research in visual arts, art history, and visual culture is holistic, nodal, and wildly exciting. Braiding gender-informed climate justice work into an anti-racist social enterprise career requires weaving together broken network threads and vastly different but intersectional relationships. This simple yet nuanced and regenerative approach creates opportunities for trust to develop. As an entrepreneur and investor, I can prioritize the learning and unlearn involved in equitable and sustainable practices. I am fortunate to be able to use the art of visually immersive, data-informed storytelling to amplify unique and fiercely mutualistic practices worldwide. By working across geographies, traditions, and cultural norms while living in and co-creating with and for the communities, I am better able to serve. As my praxis chips away at historic siloes that separate the technical, artistic, and research-based non-profit and for-profit social enterprise changemakers, I work to uplift joy and curiosity in others and myself. As a somatic documentarian who imagines a future where the emphasis is placed on mutual aid, reciprocal accountability to each other, and commitment to the planet, I hope that we continue learning from and inspiring global youth who draw strength in the face of trauma by growing and thriving in communities of care.

As I enter Elderhood, exchanging knowledge, giving and receiving the gift of connection and collaboration is the priority. Without relational leadership, indeed, deeply collaborative ways of connecting, we'll never have the resources needed to realize the best opportunities ahead of us in a regenerative life.
