What I do:

I am an elementary school teacher in British Columbia, Canada. I am also a private tutor. I recently self-published my first children's story, "Scout and Kit Become Friends." Offer

My Offer:

I want to provide a platform for parents to use to be able to engage in conversation with a professional about how their child is doing at home and at school, and how best to help them progress and succeed. I can provide insight into the pubic education system, teaching, learning, and development. Parents can contact me for consults, advice, strategies, and resources. We can custom build a plan for support that works best for you. If your child is in need of tutoring during COVID-19, I am available for online tutoring sessions. For those interested in my social stories and how these can be used to support children's social and emotional development, I can share a little bit about these rouses and how they can best be used. If you would like to know more about my new children's story, "Scout and Kit Become Friends," I can certainly engage in conversation with you. I am also dedicated to supporting new teachers as they navigate the challenges that come with being an educator in today's classrooms.

If you are a writer and would like to chat about writing a book, I would be happy to discuss this with you further.

My ideal target audience:

Parents, teachers, students, authors

I can and want to help you:

  • in your role as a parent

About

Why me:

I offer my clients a safe space to express their concerns and ask questions. I am committed to listening to my clients' needs and providing them with the customized support that they need.

A little bit about myself:

I have been working in the British Columbia Public Education system for the past 13 years. I have a Bachelor of Education from Simon Fraser University and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of British Columbia. I have taught the Primary grades (K-3) and have coached students from grades 4-10 in a variety of sports and recreational programs, especially indoor volleyball. Privately, I have tutored students from preschool-grade 7 in a multitude of subjects and developmental areas for the past 7 years. Prior to that, I worked in a toddler daycare centre and I have a breadth of experience working with children over my lifetime. In summary, I have worked with over 800 students and their families. I know what the current issues are in education and I can provide advice that is relevant and backed by years of experience. I would love to use my expertise to help and serve others.

What it’s like to work with me:

We will start with an initial phone consult so that I can learn more about you, and we can decide together what you might find most useful. If you choose to work with me, I will give you honest feedback, ongoing support, positive encouragement, and the tools that you need to succeed.
